FOR CHINESE LEVEL I ABSENT STUDENTS - copy down the NEW words onto your notebook and show the teacher when you come in. Please also print out one of the animals, color it, and cut it and turn it in homework box when you come in.
First we reviewed the old words with TPR -

動物dòng wù = animals

第一dì yī = first

第二dì èr = second

賽跑sài pǎo = race

最後zuì hòu = last

熊xióng = bear

猴hóu = monkey

魚yú = fish

貓māo = cat

鼠shǔ = rat

鳥niǎo = bird

狗gǒu = dog

虎hǔ = tiger

熊貓xióng māo = penda

鷄jī = chicken

龍lóng = dragon

長頸鹿 chǎng jǐng lù = giraffe

馬mǎ = horse

豬zhū = pig

蛇shé = snake

牛niú = cow

象 xiàng = elephant

羊yáng = sheep

兔tù = rabbit

And then we played charades to review these animals. Next we introduced the new words - 

為什麼wéi shén me = Why?

什麼shén me = What?

爬到pá dào = climb to

跳下tiào xià = jump down
